The Brewerytown community can be found at the heart of Nectar Juice Co. Our products are locally sourced, our team is locally based and our philanthropy is locally driven. Environmental sustainability plans must account for the health and wellness of the people they are designed to serve; not just the land.
We use locally grown foods for a variety of reasons. Local crops are harvested at peak ripeness, which enhances flavor and nutritional value. When foods are sourced from far away, they are picked early and often show a decline in nutrients after sitting in distribution centers. Farm-to-table is the simplest way to support our local economy and ensure our customers receive the full health benefits of juicing. Lastly, eating locally reduces our carbon footprint as it requires less fuel and energy to transport.
At Nectar we hire exclusively from within the Brewerytown community for the same reason we buy locally grown foods. We want to circulate our profits within our own community by reinvesting in businesses and services that will further enhance Brewerytown. In addition to supporting the families that support us, we hire locally for the rich cultural ties that exist within Brewerytown. Our team is dynamic, diverse, and dedicated to building a better community.
Lastly, all our philanthropic endeavors are dedicated to enhancing the community. These include exclusive discounts for residents and students and our long-term goals of building community gardens that will benefit all who wish to use them. Within the next five years, we plan to introduce hydroponic greenhouses to the area.
